What is home help services?Home Help services is a program administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The program provides funding for qualified individuals to hire someone to assist them with their daily activities. It is designed to support individuals who wish to live independently in their home rather than live in an adult foster care home, home for the aged or nursing facility.

Am I eligible for home help care?In order for an individual to receive home help care they must either have active Medicaid or can pay out of pocket. An individual must also require physical assistance to perform at least one activity of daily living.

How long is care provided?Home help care continues for as long as you need care based on your budget or allotted hours from Medicaid or your long-term insurance provider.

What types of services do we provide?Professional caregivers provide home care services such as: Bathing Toileting Eating or feeding Companionship Assistance with dressing and grooming House cleaning and chores Meal preparation and delivery Medication reminders Moving throughout the home Transferring from one position to another

What types of services are not covered?The following services are not covered by Home Help: Heavy Housework Home repairs Prompting or reminding someone to complete a task Supervision Transportation Yard work
